Green Beauty Tips: Embracing a low waste lifestyle

"Every dollar you spend is a vote you cast for the world you want.⁣⁣” - L.N Smith

Thinking about making the leap into green beauty? Looking to lower your footprint and embrace that low waste lifestyle?

Here are a few our tips & tricks to a cleaner, greener beauty routine! ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
🌿 Do your research and take your time selecting your green beauty! It’s best to slowly incorporate green products into your routine (and your wallet will thank you) ⁣⁣

🌿 Start by trying to use of the products you already own! I know it’s maybe not what you want to hear but if you’re looking to truly live that low-waste lifestyle and switch out for green beauty alternatives, don’t start throwing away any of your close-to-full products. That’s just counterproductive and will only add more waste! ⁣⁣
Abstain from buying replacements until your stuff is finished.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
🌿 Be a mindful consumer about what type of packaging & boxes your products come in. Glass jars and bottles are easily reusable and much better for the environment than single-use plastic packaging⁣⁣
(At da lish cosmetics, we use glass jars for our lip & cheek balms plus our foundation bottles. We also use recyclable boxes for packaging) ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
🌿Read the ingredients list. This may be an obvious tip but you want to be sure you know exactly what’s in your products before buying ⁣⁣
Avoid ingredients such as: phthalates, parabens, petrochemicals, GMO’s and sulphates! ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
🌿Look for a mission statement or brand message that clearly states the strides the company is taking to be green, low waste and better for the environment. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, contact the company! For example, on our website, we have a live chat feature so if you have any burnings questions - feel free to ask us! ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Consumers can make a huge shift in the beauty industry!
