Best foods you can eat to build your Immune system that you probably have at home!

Did you know that stress can weaken your immune system? Here are my go to food items that I always have on hand and will help you during this time.

HONEY - is an immune system builder with antioxidant, anti-bacterial and anti-tumour properties. For a super-charged immunity booster.

TIP - add cinnamon when ever using anything sweet like honey, maple syrup, sugar of any kind to help balance your insulin preventing you from having a sugar spike and then a crash.

LEMON WATER - this is how I start every morning with a 1/2 of squeezed lemon in hot water. Something so simple has the ability to detoxify the liver, increase the metabolic rate, help digestion, minimize depression and anxiety, and reduce risk of cancer. Try and drink this with in the first 15min you’re up.

GARLIC - Allicin, the main active compound in garlic, improves your immune cells' ability to fight off colds and the flu. Plus, garlic also seems to have antimicrobial and antiviral properties that may help fight bacterial and viral infections.

TURMERIC -  improves a person’s immune response by consuming it because of the qualities of curcumin compounds found in turmeric. It has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. Turmeric is recognized as a healthy way to promote our immune function.

BLUEBERRIES - contain a type of flavonoid which is called anthocyanin. It has antioxidant properties and best food to boost immune system. Flavonoids play an important role in the immune defence system. According to the research people who ate foods that are rich in flavonoids were less likely to get an upper respiratory tract infection or the common cold than those who did not eat this.

DARK CHOCOLATE - 85% + has an antioxidant which is called theobromine. It is helpful food to boost immune system by protecting your body’s cells from free radicals. The free radicals are that molecules which body produces when it breaks down food or when comes into contact with pollutants.

KALE - Packed with Vitamin C to help fight off infection and regenerate antioxidants. It's a great food to eat to keep the immune system high and sharp Also it’s cousin spinach is high in zinc, which can stabilize T cells and fight infections.

CITRUS FRUIT like Grapefruit & Oranges - they contains Vitamin C which increases the production of white blood cells. When there's more of these cells, your body can better defend against diseases & bacterial intruders.

WALNUTS - THE SUPER STAR OF ALL NUTS! They're packed with antioxidants and help your skin fight off free-radical damage. They also are one of the best sources of Omega-3 Fatty Acids, acting as an anti-inflammatory to fight off auto-immune disorders like eczema and psoriasis.

GREEN TEA - It’s packed with the antioxidant, epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG)

SLEEP & WATER - you guys know how important both these are. Sleep is when your body regenerates itself and how much better do you feel after a good night's sleep. As for water - aim to drink nothing less than 1 litre a day. I drink about 3 - 4 and I can promise your body & skin with love you for it. Helps get everything moving.
